Computer/IT Classes $5 per 2 hr class or $10 per 1hr for one on one tuesdays & thursdays 9.30 - 11.30am A great place to start for computer novices or those looking to refresh their skills or learn new concepts! New to computers, iPads or laptops? Having trouble with your mobile phone, connectivity to iPads and laptops? Our experienced tutors can address all IT applications and essential elements of the internet and social media. Our experienced volunteer tutors take you through all Microsoft Office applications, whether it be Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Apple applications. |
French Classes $150 per term Fridays 9 - 10.30am or 10.30 - 12noon Perfect for those who love all things French. Culture, sites to see, navigating menus, reading directions and signs. Basic to beginner and beginner to intermediate language classes. All class material and study notes are provided. 9am - 10.30am Beginner 10.30am - 12noon Intermediate |
Welsh Advanced Classes $130 annual fee Mondays 1 - 3pm Tafod y Cymry’ (The Tongue of the Welsh) holds this class for experienced Welsh learners and native speakers wishing to reconnect with their mother tongue. Together the group chat, read and translate poetry, prose and songs (which they then enjoy singing!) Some grammar is covered and a little bit of history researched. |
English Tuition (ESL) Small Group Lesson $20 per 2 hour class mondays & Wednesdays 9.30 - 11.30am Looking to improve your English language skills? Join our small group of students in a relaxed atmosphere. The classes are led by experienced and qualified ESL tutors and teachers, providing a structured program in a friendly, relaxed space for learning, conversation and friendship. English Tuition (ESL) Private Lesson $10 per 1 hour session By appointment only Working with experienced ESL tutors. Students can converse on a range of topics as well as reading the newspaper together or working on flashcards. Students can bring in their own work to ask for assistance or come with lots of questions to help you feel more comfortable. |
Paint with Cherie $10.00 per class First Friday of the month 10 - 12pm Cherie will guide you through this painting experience. Paint landscapes, portraits, abstract and more with acrylics. You’ll be immersed in a wonderful atmosphere of music, laughter, knowledge and kindness. All abilities welcome. All materials provided. Morning tea provided. |
Barre & Boxing $10 per class mondays 12.30 - 1.15pm A combination of traditional barre movements using a ballet barre with some resistance work for the legs and arms, a great strengthening session for glutes, core and lower back with a little bit of boxing thrown in for fun! Hatha Yoga Classes $15 per class tuesdays 7 - 8pm Hatha Flow class incorporating the traditional aspects of Hatha Yoga – Asanas (postures), breath, mindfulness and listening to the body while flowing and moving with the breath to strengthen the body, calm the mind and open the heart. This Yoga class is appropriate for all ages, accommodating for beginners through to more experienced yogis. |
Circuit Strength Training $10 per class Wednesdays 1.30 - 2.30pm An fun, active and high energy workout, combining strength, endurance and cardio training. Each short burst of resistance exercise, with moderate weights and frequent repetitions, can target a different muscle group, resulting in a total body workout in a short period of time. Chair Exercise $10 PER CLASS TUESDAYs 9-10am & 10–11am This class consists of low impact exercises that focus on strengthening muscles while improving flexibility and posture all while remaining upright in a chair! Staying seated means that even those who are frail or not very flexible can safely do the exercises and work towards increasing their strength and flexibility using bands and balls. A fantastic class for beginners. |
Mens Strength & Cardio $10 per class tuesdays 11 - 12noon A full body workout for active older gentlemen! Classes are designed to increase flexibility, joint stability, balance, coordination, agility, muscular strength, and cardiovascular endurance. The workout combines aerobic, resistance training and toning with plenty of friendly fun! Chair Yoga $10 per class Thursdays 10 - 10.45am Chair Yoga allows yoga to be accessible to those with limited mobility, difficulties with balance, joint pain, joint replacements, osteoporosis, arthritis and can help to lessen the impact of chronic illnesses and pain. Fine-tune your attention, reduce stress and improve mental clarity. Being calmer and more relaxed inevitably leads to a greater feeling of happiness and well-being. |
Floor Pilates $10 PER CLASS WEDNESDAYS 2.30 – 3.30PM This class is predominantly floor based. Pilates is a mind, body, and spirit practice with benefits that include improved posture, better coordination and balance, improved concentration and focus, increased body awareness, stress management, core strengthening and assists with injury prevention. A very relaxing and enjoyable workout! |
Stretch & Flex $10 Per class Mondays 12.45 – 1.30pm A slow and relaxing floor based class working on muscle flexibility and stretching to help improve body functionality and prevent injury. You will learn how to properly activate and control important stabilising muscles and perform movements with efficiency while getting supple and energised. |
Walking Group free Tuesdays 10 - 11am Feel like getting to know your local community? Discover and tour local attractions by foot (weather permitting). Why not join the group where you can meet new friends, enjoy the fresh air and increase your level of fitness. Group size can determine the pace. We have two groups slow pace and medium to fast pace. |
Art Therapy & Mindfulness $36 per term mondays 10 - 11.30am Colouring In, Water Colour, Charcoal – Painting and positive mindfulness. This program/class is not only fun, but research tells us that Art Therapy is a proven relaxation exercise to increase self-awareness, providing techniques to assist in reducing stress and anxiety. Provides an opportunity for people of all ages to slow down their day and showcase a hidden talent! Meet other participants who are members of the House. |
Book Club Day & Evening Groups Book Club has been operating for some time at CSCH and would love to welcome new members to the loyal and enthusiastic groups. In a respectful and friendly setting, readers are actively encouraged to share their views on a range of books, reporting back your thoughts and feedback each month – all this while enjoying fun and friendship with other Community House Members. |

Community Lunch $5 DONATION Lunch 11.30 - 1pm Wednesdays Delivered by a team of volunteers, our clever cooks bring their own specialities and focus on nutrition, wholesome meals, cultural diversity and most important of all - fun & friendship. Come and join this social group and enjoy a two course lunch. |
